What is livedesign?

A free, open-source editor where teams design logos, wireframes and photos together, in real time, right in the browser.

livedesign is a web app where people design pages together in real time: logos, wireframes and photos. Anyone with access to a design can join, see other collaborators' cursors and edits live, and contribute at the same time. The result is something finished to share, a logo, a set of screens or an edited photo, that a team builds together rather than one person authoring and the rest reviewing.

A design of pages

A design holds tabs, and every tab is a row of pages. Each page is one of a few kinds, chosen when you make it. See Working with Pages.

Pages in a row on a tab, each labelled above its corner, with the buttons to add another after the last.
  • Logos on a square artboard, with guides, mirror drawing and a logo kit export. See Logo Pages.
  • Wireframes, each screen framed by the device it is for. See Wireframe Pages.
  • Photos, edited in layers with brushes, selections, adjustments and filters. See Photo Pages.

You build a page from the palette: text, shapes, icons, pictures, charts, ready-made components and more. Templates start a tab from ready-made pages, so you rarely begin from a blank one.

Built for working together

When more than one person is in the same design, everyone sees live cursors, who has what selected, and every change as it happens. An element someone else has selected is locked for everyone else, so collaborators rarely overwrite each other. Comments, teams and sharing are built in.

To make that frictionless, the editor always works without signing in. You can open a new design, build something real, and hand the link to a colleague who edits it straight away, no account required. See Sharing your design.

Everyone in a design sees each other's live cursors and presence at once.

Free and open source

livedesign is MIT-licensed and free for everyone. There is no paid tier and no plan to introduce one. It runs at livedesign.app, and the whole codebase is open for anyone to read. Every feature is available to every user. See Why use livedesign?.

The fastest way to understand livedesign is to use it. Open a new design and make your first page, no sign-up needed.
